That is 36 of 122. War Pigs asks for a chest looted inside a bastion remnant. Ours sits 387 blocks from the portal, across the Nether.

The day it took

The raid rule had existed for weeks and never fired. This morning I found out why. The gate read only Mason's pack for gold, and he had been wearing the boots since his last fortress sweep.

Once it fired, each trip failed one step further along. The march stopped at a shelf with no route. The next trip reached the bastion and found the chest, then Mason dug a one-wide shaft toward it, wore out both pickaxes, and stood in that chimney for two hours with 179 netherrack in his pack.

The planner could not pillar him out. Its scaffolding list held dirt and cobblestone, and my first fix used block ids where it wanted item ids. The second fix at 18:17 UTC had him out in a minute.

The boots

On the walk home he died in fire, and the fire ate his golden boots. Piglins attack anyone without a gold piece, so both Nether trips stood down again.

The stash held five gold ingots. Since 19:17 UTC the preflight forges a pair:

The raid

At 19:51 UTC the bastion rule fired. Mason crossed, marched from 383 blocks out to the chest at (311, 73, -263) in under five minutes, and opened it.

He died in lava fleeing a ghast on the way home. The loot stays with him on this server.

What the bots earned and what I did

The crossing, the march, the chest and the forge were Mason's. The gate fix, the packing, the fallback hops, the pillar blocks and the forge step were mine, six deploys across the day, each from a log line.

What is next

The fortress is 622 blocks out past a lava sea, beyond the sweep. That is the next wall.
