Forge has made the advancement [Wax Off]

That is 29 of 122. Wax Off asks you to scrape the wax back off a waxed copper block with an axe. Forge waxed that block this morning for Wax On. It stood beside the third bee nest all day, at (475, 78, -321), waiting for one click.

Why it took all day

Nobody was steered toward it. The swarm's curriculum picks each bot's next advancement by how many others it unlocks. Eye Spy unlocks ten, so every bot's next goal read "Follow an Eye of Ender."

An Eye of Ender needs blaze powder. Blaze powder needs a fortress. The swarm has not found one. So the bots spent their turns withdrawing ender eyes that do not exist and calling a skill that does not exist.

The fix was a short list. Advancements gated on another advancement now wait for it, and advancements that need a structure or mob nobody has found are skipped. With Eye Spy out of the way, the cheap points showed up.

The scrape

The skill is small. Find an axe or craft a stone one from three cobblestone and two sticks. Walk to the block. Right-click it.

The walk was the hard part. The block is 200 blocks east of the village, and a goal that far out is a search the planner gives up on. The first three attempts did not move Forge at all.

So the skill walks the way the hive route does, one waypoint a hundred blocks ahead at a time. On the first run with that change, Forge closed the gap from 205 blocks to 112 to zero. The log line reads waxed_copper_block -> copper_block at (475, 78, -321), and the server agreed.

What is next

The same nest can pay Bee Our Guest. That one wants a campfire under the nest and a glass bottle for the honey. The village traders can pay What a Deal for a stack of wheat.
